Not a day goes by without me playing Rolling Stones music. In my mind they are the absolute best rock-n-roll band in the world. It amazes me that they seem to get better and better as time goes on. The same old songs we grew up on, add some insanely talented musicians and the wall of sound is mesmerizing. Just the fact that they are still so popular and still together is a testament to this!
When I was working with the collector’s shops, Gimme Shelter was my personal pride and unlimited joy. It was actually painful to let go of some of the rarer stuff we had in the store, like autographs, gold discs, and of course boots.
When Ron Wood toured Japan with Bo Diddley, I worked with the art galleries in Tokyo to help celebrate some of his amazing paintings and drawings. I met Ron in a hotel lobby during this time, and I saw in him a serious artist, not just the clowning around onstage, but a man dedicated to his work.
I also worked with Mick Taylor, when he performed 2 sets in a tiny live house in Tokyo. For a man accustomed to playing to thousands or even tens of thousands of fans, a 500 seat venue wasn’t his cup of tea, but we managed to have a blast anyway.
Anyway, this is my collection.
